What are some stereotypes you notice about other band instruments?
Such as... clarinets always complain that the rest of the band is too loud (same for flutes), or that saxophones talk too much (which they really do)

our percussion like never shuts up or stops playing random crap and have our teacher yelling at them all the time. Our flutes and clarinets are the ones that are "mostly" quiet, sometimes they talk excessively, but most of the time, pay attention the most |

There are two guitarists in jazz band. One is pretty cool, the other is kind of a jackass. He's always playing metallica. One day, he kept playing some Metallica song on the vibraphone- which is old, and non-percussion shouldn't be playing on percussion equipment anyway. And Metallica sounds like absolute shit when you've got a Fender Stratocaster running through the school's Crate bass amp. And he was playing so damn loud today! Funny thing is, everybody in our brass section plays guitar except for one kid! |

Brass: The cool people, a bit noisy but a decent bunch - mainly guys.
Saxes: Talk too much, have most of the camp-ish guys in their section, but is mostly made up of girls.
Flutes/Piccolos: Quiet girls and gay guys (jk)
Clarinets: Somewhere between saxes & flutes, weird quiet types.
Strings: Either stuck up or fun loving albeit quiet ones. Mainly girls.
Percussion: Loud, crazy types. Only ever known 1 female percussionist. |
