What is the point to a blog?On UG, we see all sorts. Some use blogs to bitch about UG, particularly being banned. Just venting about something they have no control over, which is very understandable, or to bitch about their parents, teachers, or someone who did them wrong, recently.
For others, blogging is a way to toss a novel way of
looking at things out there for friends and occasional strangers to happen upon. A little nugget of wisdom worthy of a read.
Some use blogs as a mini-forum thread of sorts. Some to inspire, others to incite. Still others use blogs as a way to display their work, like poetry, photography, humour etc. For some, it's just an opportunity to share a little piece of their lives with the rest of us.
Great blogs come in all shapes and sizes, whether a political essay or a moment of despair, with the blogger looking for advice and directions at a crossroads in their life. They can enhance the human experience of both the writer and the reader. They can also be a way to witness the personal growth of our peers or ourselves.
We have a daunting task here: To find some of the pearls amidst this murky sea of mundane blogs. Good luck.
