I've been a vegetarian all my life because my mum was, with the only meat I've ever really eating being sausages (for about a month). Then I saw the white bits inside them and just thought 'why the fuck am I eating this?'.

I'm going to be a vegan for no particular reason either, but eating eggs and the like have just made me feel a bit sick recently and I've started to LOVE vegan food.

Don't really have a reason for starting it first time I did it, second time it just dawned on me that I was happier as a vegetarian and that I actually care about animals so I should go back to it, that was 4 months ago and i'm VERY glad I did.

Strange you say that, i'm going on a diet (starting tommorrow, eek!) and I eat cereal, pasta & fruit and that's it, so I might actually consider veganism in the near future, as milk is all I have.

I've been one all my life. I guess just being raised that way, you tend to stick to it. Currently, my reasons for being vegetarian are basically unnecessary violence towards animals and environmental reasons. Vegetarian ftw! I've been one all my life. I'm a pretty sensitive dude and eveer since I was a little kid I've always avoided hurting other creatures, and my sister was a vegetarian for years and I finally sort of just woke up and realized that I was being hypocritical for not being one myself. I made the decision during spring break two years ago. I really shocked all of my friends when I told them, probably because I'm fat. I didn't have much of a reason other than that vegetarianism just makes sense to me. Why kill an animal when you don't have to anymore? Why would someone eat meat when there's things out there with much more protein and no cholesterol, like tofu and tempeh? I made the decision during spring break two years ago. i was kind of going through a hippy thing in 8th grade, so one day i was like, hey, hippys are vegetarian, why not? so i was kind of off and on for like a year, i mean, i was in PETA and everything, but one day it just really struck me as wrong and i realized why exactly i wasn't eating meat. at first, it was a rebellious type of thing, because my parents didn't like it, but now the issue is really important to me, and just don't see a reason for the unnecessary violence. i was kind of going through a hippy thing in 8th grade, so one day i was like, hey, hippys are vegetarian, why not? so i was kind of off and on for like a year, i mean, i was in PETA and everything, but one day it just really struck me as wrong and i realized why exactly i wasn't eating meat. at first, it was a rebellious type of thing, because my parents didn't like it, but now the issue is really important to me, and just don't see a reason for the unnecessary violence.

i ditched meat in early year seven at highschool (now in year nine). my highschool teaches compulsory agriculture in year seven and so i was exposed to alot of things i'd never thought of before; the cruelty and killing of animals for our stomachs and clothes. it was horrifying to see in animals in such a way. so i soon changed my eating habits (even though i didn't eat alot of meat) and became vegetarian, it wasn't that hard at first, though i know it can be for some. two years later i still haven't had any animal flesh and i feel great about that. i can't see why people would eat meat, it's gross. i still get alot of teasing and joking (which can be really hurtful and annoying), but generally my friends and family are very supportive of my decision to not to eat meat. i'm thinking of maybe going vegan, but i'm not 100% sure if I'd be able to do that. My brother, he left some magizine on the diner table and I decided to take a look at it. After looking through it some story caught my eye and I read it, now I will never eat anything from a pig again, drink cow milk and eat an egg. I eat tufurkey in place of turkey lunch meat, drink soy milk (Silk) and Rice Dream but that's about it. My brother, he left some magizine on the diner table and I decided to take a look at it. I never really ate a lot of meat to begin with. Only every once in a while. It was something I could definitely do without. So I just decided to give it up fully. The idea of devouring a dead animal's flesh just isn't very appealing to me. I never really ate a lot of meat to begin with. Only every once in a while. For me, it was the fact that I was hurting other animals in order to get a meal. Plus the fact that humans are not actually made to eat meat. For me, it was the fact that I was hurting other animals in order to get a meal. Plus the fact that humans are not actually made to eat meat.

One night, I heard a song that hit me more than all the others did, and I decided to watch a video the band recommended to me. I did, it sparked curiosity, 4 hours later, I was vegan. Probably wasn't the best idea, I didn't know what to eat for a week or so and had a pretty bad diet as I was a meat eater before that. But yeah, one of the best things I've ever done so I don't regret it. One night, I heard a song that hit me more than all the others did, and I decided to watch a video the band recommended to me. basically, i ate 3 hot dogs when i was in 7th grade and they came back up later that night. i havnt eaten meat since then, and now im going into 12th gade. im not totally against killing animals--its sort of part of the food chain i guess (atleast thats what my mom has always said...). although, i do think that killing animals for food is unnecessary. basically, i ate 3 hot dogs when i was in 7th grade and they came back up later that night. i havnt eaten meat since then, and now im going into 12th gade. im not totally against killing animals--its sort of part of the food chain i guess (atleast thats what my mom has always said...). although, i do think that killing animals for food is unnecessary.

I became vegetarian after reading about Buddhism. Eating meat is not in line with the Eightfold Path as it causes harm to sentient beings. :) I became vegetarian after reading about Buddhism. Eating meat is not in line with the Eightfold Path as it causes harm to sentient beings. :)

I've never eaten a lot of meat and then a teacher at school began about 'what you're eating actually was an animal' so I began thinking about it and from then on I realized I didn't want to eat meat anymore I've never eaten a lot of meat and then a teacher at school began about 'what you're eating actually was an animal' so I began thinking about it and from then on I realized I didn't want to eat meat anymore
