which album would u guys prefer? contraband or libertad? i was initially 50/50 between the two but libertad kinda grew on me since it was a step forward to maturing the band's sound. which album would u guys prefer? contraband or libertad? i was initially 50/50 between the two but libertad kinda grew on me since it was a step forward to maturing the band's sound.

Libertad owns contraband. Especially on a skill level for Slash. The solo for Gravedancer is reminiscent of his early days in GNR Libertad owns contraband. Especially on a skill level for Slash. The solo for Gravedancer is reminiscent of his early days in GNR

I prefer Libertad, I think Scott's vocals are soo much better on Libertad. And although Contraband is more aggressive, Libertad still rocks harder somehow, lol. The songs are fuckin' catchy on Libertad, like in Mary Mary. The songs also seem better written, the lead guitar is much more.. different?. In Contraband Slash played the rhythm along with Dave on a lot of parts, but on Libertad he's always doing his own thing, and it rocks. Theres also a lot of cool technique and experimentation that just sound amazing. You can definitely tell they've gotten more comfortable with their style. Like it said in Total Guitar, Libertad doesn't have the giant sounds that Contraband has, the songs are less memorable but I really couldn't pick between the two Like it said in Total Guitar, Libertad doesn't have the giant sounds that Contraband has, the songs are less memorable but I really couldn't pick between the two

Im going to have to say that I like contraband more. It has a more edgier feeling which is what originally drew me to VR. Thats not to say that I don't like Libertad, Slash's Solos are amazing. However, the "second song" that is with gravedancer, "Don't drop that dime" .... I hate it with a passion. Im going to have to say that I like contraband more. I love both of them, a LOT. But I think I have to say Contraband. I really don't have much of an exact reason, there is just something about it. When I want to listen to VR, it's always the CD I grab!! I love both of them, a LOT. But I think I have to say Contraband. Libertad, by far. Superhuman, Sucker Train Blues and Fall to Pieces are awesome songs from Contraband though. Libertad, by far. Superhuman, Sucker Train Blues and Fall to Pieces are awesome songs from Contraband though.

Both are great albums but i gotta say Contraband mainly because it has fall to pieces and slither VR's two best songs. Both are great albums but i gotta say Contraband mainly because it has fall to pieces and slither VR's two best songs.
